Toronto Argonauts sign American defensive back Jordan Jones, re-sign one other

The Toronto Argonauts have signed American defensive back Jordan Jones, the team announced on Monday.

The six-foot, 180-pound defender played 22 games over four seasons (2019-2022) at the University of Rhode Island, amassing 72 tackles, eight interceptions, 30 passes defended and two touchdowns.

The Brooklyn, New York native was named All-Conference first team in 2022 and All-American second team in 2021. Before his time with the Rams, the 24-year-old played at Nassau Community College where he recorded 11 interceptions in 22 games and was named a junior college All-American in 2017.

The Argos also announced they have re-signed American defensive lineman Tyler Williams. The six-foot-two, 295-pound defender played five seasons at Wake Forest (2018-22) where he made 65 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and five sacks over 44 games
