Bombers tab two-time Grey Cup champ Glen Young as LB coach

Winnipeg has hired two-time Grey Cup winner Glen Young as the team’s linebackers coach, per CFL sources.

Young played eight seasons from 1998-2005 as a linebacker in the CFL with the Argos, Alouettes and Eskimos. He amassed 262 tackles, seven quarterback sacks and four interceptions in 122 games. The Toronto, Ontario native suited up alongside current Blue Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea in the Argonauts linebacking corps for two seasons in 1998 and 1999. Young won two Grey Cups, both with Edmonton, in 2003 and 2005.

The Syracuse University product was drafted in the third round, 22nd overall by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 1992 CFL Draft. He played four seasons in the NFL with the Raiders, Bills, Chargers and Seahawks before coming north to the CFL.
