The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have opened as 7.5-point favourites over the Montreal Alouettes in the 110th Grey Cup.

The Blue Bombers qualified for their fourth consecutive Grey Cup with a 24-13 win over the B.C. Lions in the West Final. This marks the first time Winnipeg has made it to four-straight Grey Cups in club history and the first time any CFL team has done so since the Edmonton Football Team of the early 1980s.

Montreal shocked the CFL world when they dominated the Toronto Argonauts in the East Final, upsetting the 16-win club by a score of 38-17 to qualify for their first Grey Cup berth since 2010. The Alouettes dominated Chad Kelly, the East Division’s nominee for Most Outstanding Player, intercepting him four times.

Winnipeg swept the two-game season series against Montreal during the regular season, winning 17-3 at Percival Molson Stadium on Canada Day and again at IG Field by a score of 47-17 on Aug. 24. The Alouettes have improved dramatically since to win seven straight games, including back-to-back playoff victories over Hamilton and Toronto.

The Grey Cup is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 19 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. EST. Both teams will arrive on Monday and have the option of holding their first practice of the week on Tuesday. The weather forecast for Sunday’s game is sunny with a high of four degrees.
