Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign former Redblacks’ running back De’Montre Tuggle, release one

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American running back De’Montre Tuggle.

The 24-year-old recently became a free agent after finishing the season on the practice roster with the Ottawa Redblacks. He recorded 32 carries for 176 yards and one touchdown with the team in 2023 along with seven receptions for 58 yards.

The five-foot-ten, 198-pound ball-carrier rushed for 1,838 yards and 24 touchdowns over three seasons at Ohio University.

The Ticats also released American running back Tayon Fleet-Davis, who made his CFL debut against the Montreal Alouettes this past weekend. He ran the ball twice for three yards.

Hamilton (8-10) will visit Montreal (11-7) for the East Semi-Final on Saturday, Nov. 4 with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m. EDT.
