The Toronto Argonauts have signed Canadian receiver Richie Sindani, per sources.

The 28-year-old was released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday, a move that the receiver later stated came at his own request. Sindani had dressed for 12 games with the team this season after serving a two-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance while a member of the Calgary Stampeders. He caught just 12 passes for 90 yards, despite making six starts.

The six-foot-two, 220-pound native of Regina was originally selected by Calgary in the eighth round of the 2017 CFL Draft after playing at the University of Regina and University of Calgary during his U Sports career. He also spent time with the Calgary Colts of the Canadian Junior Football League.
