The Calgary Stampeders have released veteran receiver Markeith Ambles after originally placing him on the team’s one-game injured list earlier on Friday.
The 31-year-old signed with the team on Aug. 5 following his release from the Toronto Argonauts and caught 15 passes for 193 yards in four games. He was set to miss Saturday’s game against the Montreal Alouettes due to a knee injury with Tre Odoms-Dukes starting in his place.
The Houston product spent the first three seasons of his CFL career with the Stampeders, recording 117 catches for 1,399 yards and seven touchdowns. He set all-new career highs in 2022 with Toronto, posting 72 receptions for 737 yards and five touchdowns.
