Bombers sign veteran DB Macho Harris

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed veteran defensive back Macho Harris and defensive end Shayon Green.

The 29-year-old Harris has spent the first four seasons of his career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and started 16 games last season. He has 149 defensive tackles, four interceptions, six sacks and three forced fumbles over 44 career games.

Harris played strong side linebacker and boundary corner in Saskatchewan and will likely slot in behind Maurice Leggett at safety with Bombers. He could also serve as a sixth defensive back and special teamer, replacing Lin-J Shell who is a pending free agent. Shell played well last year, but at 34, is undoubtedly nearing the end of his career.
