Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ quarterback Zach Collaros was the CFL’s highest-graded player by Pro Football Focus (PFF) following Week 2 action across the league.
The two-time reigning Most Outstanding Player received a grade of 90.8, which is the highest grade any player has received thus far in 2023. The veteran passer completed 23-of-31 pass attempts for 293 yards and two touchdowns and carried the ball three times for 17 yards and one touchdown, helping his club beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders by a score of 45-27.
Calgary Stampeders’ defensive lineman Julian Howsare was the league’s highest-graded defensive player, receiving a grade of 90.6. He made one tackle in his club’s 26-15 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks, which was Calgary’s first win of the season.
The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.
The league will unveil the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.
