The Ottawa Redblacks have signed American receiver Raphael Leonard to the practice roster after he was released by the Edmonton Elks as part of their final cuts. He made 10 receptions for 90 yards and one touchdown during the preseason.

The 26-year-old played five games for the Elks in 2022, suiting up three times at receiver and starting twice at defensive back. He recorded one reception for five yards while totalling six tackles on defence.

The six-foot-two, 190-pound target played 22 games at Southern Illinois over the 2017 and 2018 seasons and made 91 receptions for 1,377 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Starkville, Miss. native attended training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019 but was cut prior to the start of the season.
