Saskatchewan Roughriders release American receiver Jake Parker

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released American receiver Jake Parker.

Parker initially signed with the Riders last November following the conclusion of the 2022 CFL season.

Prior to his time in Saskatchewan, Parker spent three seasons at Howard Payne University where he made 123 catches for 2,282 yards and 21 touchdowns over 20 career games. The six-foot-one, 210-pound target also scored touchdowns as a rusher and punt returner.

He led the American Southwest Conference in 2021 with 52 catches for 1,113 yards and 13 touchdowns and was named the American Southwest Conference Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference in 2020 and 2021.

The Roughriders are currently holding their 2023 rookie camp at Griffiths Stadium at the University of Saskatchewan. The team’s main training camp opens on Sunday at the same facility.
