Former all-star receiver Bralon Addison has been released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The 29-year-old started eight games for the Ticats in 2022 before suffering a torn Achilles, which ended his season. He made 43 catches for 433 yards in those contests along with 12 carries for 67 yards.

The five-foot-nine, 197-pound target first signed with Hamilton in September 2018 following brief stints with the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Toronto Argonauts. He had a breakout season in 2019 when he made 95 receptions for 1,236 yards and seven touchdowns along with 36 carries for 218 yards and a touchdown, leading to an opportunity with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Oregon product was waived by the Vikings in August 2020 and remained a free agent until the end of the year when he rejoined the Ticats. He dressed for only three games due to injury in 2021, making 18 catches for 231 yards.

Addison has made a total of 164 receptions for 2,013 yards and eight touchdowns over the course of his career. He was named a league all-star in 2019.

Editor’s note: an earlier version of this story indicated that Addison was retiring. It has since been corrected.
