The Toronto Argonauts have signed American defensive lineman Dom Peterson and Canadian defensive back Cody Hale ahead of 2023 training camp.

Peterson played five productive seasons as a starter at the University of Nevada, racking up 185 career tackles, 55.5 tackles for loss, 28 sacks, and six forced fumbles. The six-foot, 299-pound defensive end was a four-time All-Mountain West honouree, receiving an honourable mention in 2021, a second-team selection in 2020 and 2022, and a first-team selection in 2019.

Hale went unselected in the 2023 CFL Draft after attending the league’s Invitational Combine in Waterloo. The six-foot-two, 209-pound safety prospect ran a 4.76-second forty-yard dash, 4.27-second short shuttle, and 7.12-second three-cone, with a 35-inch vertical, nine-foot, five-inch broad jump, and 12 reps on the bench. He played 30 games over four seasons at the University of Toronto, collecting 62 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, and six pass breakups.
