The Edmonton Elks have signed American defensive back Dwayne Thompson II.
The six-foot-one, 192-pound defensive back played at Valdosta State University in Georgia this past season where he recorded 15 total tackles in four games with the Blazers.
The native of Farmington Hills, Mich. previously played three seasons at Indiana State from 2018 to 2021. He recorded 20 total tackles, four pass knockdowns, and one interception during his junior season with the Sycamores.
CFL teams are slated to open training camp on May 14 with rosters of 85 players excluding non-counters. The Elks will play their first preseason game against the Calgary Stampeders on Monday, May 22 at 4 p.m. EDT at McMahon Stadium.
