The Calgary Stampeders have signed American defensive lineman Mandy Alonso.
The six-foot-two, 290-pound defender played 55 games over five seasons at the University of Virginia. He recorded 116 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, three knockdowns, and one forced fumble as a member of the Cavaliers.
The 24-year-old was a part-time starter during his freshman and sophomore seasons but took on a full-time starting role for his final three years with the team.
The native of Miami, Fla. served as a team captain during his senior season in 2021. He went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft.
