The Calgary Stampeders have signed American defensive back Michael Griffin II.
The six-foot, 215-pound cover man made 159 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, eight knockdowns, and two fumble recoveries over 37 games for South Dakota State (2018-21). He was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s all-newcomer team in 2019 after redshirting following a transfer.
The 24-year-old started his collegiate career with 20 games over two seasons at Southwest Minnesota State. In his second season with the Mustangs, he started 11 games and ranked second on the team with 85 tackles.

The Minneapolis native went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft but signed with the Tennessee Titans following its conclusion. He attended training camp with the team prior to being released.
