The Montreal Alouettes have signed American left tackle Nick Callender to a contract extension through the 2024 season.

The six-foot-six, 321-pound Callender played 16 games in 2022 with an offensive line that helped quarterback Trevor Harris pass for 4,157 yards, the second-highest total in the CFL. He and his O-line group also helped quarterback Dominique Davis score 13 rushing touchdowns, the second-highest total in the league.

“Nick is an extremely physical player who makes the opposition pay for every inch they try to gain,” general manager Danny Maciocia said in a statement. “He quickly learned our playbook and adds very good depth to our offensive line.”
