The Montreal Alouettes have signed veteran American defensive back Ciante Evans, returning him to the franchise where he played the 2019 season.

The 30-year-old has played the last two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 13 games last season, Evans recorded 26 tackles and an interception, down from the 43 tackles and a pick he registered in 2021.

During his lone season in Montreal, Evans also played 13 games and finished with 29 tackles and three interceptions. He originally broke into the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders, being named a CFL all-star in 2017 and taking home West Division honours the next year.
