The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed top Canadian receiver Nic Demski to a three-year contract extension, the team announced on Sunday.

Demski is coming off a career year with the Bombers in which he recorded 64 receptions for 772 yards and 10 touchdowns — all personal bests — despite playing just 13 games. He also added 20 carries for 151 yards on the ground.

The Winnipeg native has played four seasons for his hometown team since signing as a free agent in 2018, playing a vital role in the club’s three straight Grey Cup appearances. He took home Most Valuable Canadian honours in the 2021 championship game after catching four passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.

Originally selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2015 CFL Draft after an outstanding collegiate career at the University of Manitoba, Demski played his first three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

In 99 career regular season games, he has made 284 receptions for 3,248 yards and 23 touchdowns, adding 102 carries for 671 yards and four more majors. The former Bison has also occasionally chipped in as a returner, returning a punt return for a touchdown as a rookie.
