The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian defensive lineman Kelon Thomas.
The 22-year-old made 19.5 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick as a member of the Okanagan Sun this past season. He was named the outstanding defensive lineman in the B.C. Conference of the Canadian Junior Football League.
The six-foot-five, 255-pound defender helped the Sun win the Canadian Bowl over the Regina Thunder at Mosaic Stadium in November, recording 2.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks in the title game.
The native of Scarborough, Ont. made 42 tackles, 18 sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick over three seasons with the team.
