Longtime Montreal Alouettes’ assistant coach André Bolduc to join Saskatchewan Roughriders: report

Longtime Montreal Alouettes’ assistant coach André Bolduc is going to be the next running backs coach and run-game coordinator of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, according to Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette.

The 51-year-old has served as the running backs coach and assistant head coach of the Alouettes this past season and has been with the team since 2014. He has previously held the titles of assistant offensive coordinator, receivers coach, and special teams assistant coach.

Bolduc was one of five finalists for Montreal’s head coaching job, though the role was ultimately given to former Saskatchewan Roughriders’ head coach Jason Maas. He has previously coached at the Université de Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, and Collège Montmorency.

The native of Alma, Que. went unselected in the 1996 CFL Draft out of Concordia before spending six seasons in the league as a member of the Ottawa Rough Riders, Edmonton Elks, and Montreal Alouettes. He caught 38 passes for 393 yards and one touchdown and recorded 52 career special teams tackles with two fumble recoveries.
