The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian running back Ryth-Jean Giraud.
Giraud was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 CFL Draft by the Montreal Alouettes and appeared in two pre-season games. He scored the game-winning touchdown against the Ottawa Redblacks in his only carry of the pre-season while also returning one punt return for six yards, one kickoff return for 21 yards and registered two defensive tackles.
The Montreal native was a two-time conference all-star at the University of Montreal. In 16 career U Sports games for the Carabins, Giraud had 125 carries for 841 yards and five touchdowns while adding 29 catches for 300 yards and a touchdown.
