Edmonton Elks launch ‘guaranteed win’ promotion for the 2023 season

Despite having not won a game at Commonwealth Stadium since October 2019, the Edmonton Elks are making a grand proclamation about their 2023 home opener against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

They are guaranteeing a win and putting their money where their mouth is.

On Tuesday, the Elks launched a limited number of “guaranteed win tickets” to their regular season home opener on Sunday, June 11.

A limited number of P1 section sections tickets will be sold as “guaranteed win tickets” that, when purchased, entitle the customer to that same ticket for no additional charge for every game until the Elks secure a home victory that season.

The last time Edmonton won at Commonwealth Stadium was October 12, 2019, when they beat the B.C. Lions 19-6. Since then the green and gold have gone two full seasons — that’s 17 straight home games — without a home win.

If Edmonton were to lose to the Riders on June 11, fans who purchase these tickets would get the same seat at their next home game, a June 25 matchup with the defending Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts, free of charge. They would keep getting those tickets until the Elks finally delivered a home win.

The CFL released their full 2023 schedule on Tuesday, which will kick off with on Thursday, June 8 with a game between the B.C. Lions and Calgary Stampeders. It will culminate in the 110th Grey Cup on Sunday, Nov. 19 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.
