The Calgary Stampeders have signed former Florida State defensive lineman Jacob Pugh for the 2023 season.

The six-foot-four, 246-pound edge rusher played 49 games for the Seminoles from 2014 to 2017, notching 108 career tackles including 12 for a loss. Pugh added 7.5 sacks, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble to his stat line, while returning a fumble for a touchdown in 2017.

The Zephyrhills, Florida native went unselected in the 2018 NFL Draft but later signed with the Seattle Seahawks, registering five tackles in four pre-season games. He has since spent time with the Orlando Apollos of the defunct Alliance of American Football and the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers.
