The Edmonton Elks have signed Canadian linebacker Adam Konar to a two-year extension, the team announced on Thursday.

The six-foot-two, 225-pound defender started all 18 games for Edmonton this past season, recording 57 total tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception. He was tied for second on the team in tackles, trailing only defensive back Scott Hutter. Konar was Edmonton’s nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian in 2022.

The 29-year-old native of Vancouver has played seven seasons in the CFL since being a third-round pick in the 2015 CFL Draft. He has spent five of those years with Edmonton and made 148 career defensive tackles along with 36 special teams tackles, five sacks, four interceptions, and four forced fumbles.

He was previously a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide and played three games as a freshman in 2019, recording one tackle.
