The B.C. Lions will have more than just superstar quarterback Nathan Rourke back in the lineup for their regular-season finale, as receiver Lucky Whitehead will return to the field after missing three games with an ankle injury.

Whitehead suffered the injury in Week 17 against the Ottawa Redblacks but will use Friday’s meaningless clash with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as a tune-up for the playoffs.

Despite missing time, Whitehead still sits tenth in CFL receiving with 73 receptions for 966 yards and three touchdowns. Along with Dominique Rhymes and Keon Hatcher, that gives B.C. three receivers among the top ten in yardage, with their most well-respected target, Bryan Burnham, expected to return from an extended absence next week.

Whitehead first played in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers but achieved stardom last year in B.C., catching 60 passes for 932 yards and four touchdowns on his way to a CFL all-star selection. He previously spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets.

The Lions (12-5) visit the Bombers (14-3) on Friday, October 28 at 8:30 p.m. EDT. Both teams have already secured home playoff games.
