The Laval Rouge et Or have moved up two spots in the U Sports football top ten rankings after beating the previously undefeated Montreal Carabins by a score of 22-3 on Sunday.

Laval entered the game on a five-game losing streak against their rivals and performed well in front of a rocking crowd of 18,173. The club’s defence limited the Carabins to just 205 yards of total offence, while second-year quarterback Arnaud Desjardins threw touchdown passes to Édouard Arsenault and Kevin Mital. The win gave Laval head coach Glen Constantin his 197th career victory, setting a new all-time U Sports football record.

This is the highest the Rouge et Or have been ranked all season, while the two teams ahead of them — the Western Mustangs and Saskatchewan Huskies — have held onto their respective positions for the entire year.
