Calgary Stampeders Wall of Fame inductee Harry Langford passes away at 92

Former Calgary Stampeders’ offensive lineman Harry Langford has passed away at the age of 92, the team announced on Monday.

The six-foot-two, 235-pound lineman played 135 games for the team over nine seasons (1950-1958) and was named a West Division all-star five times. His older brother, Jim, played alongside him for the first two years of his career.

The Winnipeg native was inducted into Calgary’s Wall of Fame in 1992 and became a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He was selected at right guard for the Stampeders’ 25th-anniversary team in 1970 and again for their 50th-anniversary team in 1995.

Langford remained in Calgary after his playing career was over and coached amateur football. He later moved to Nanaimo, B.C. where he passed away on Monday morning.
