Canadian offensive lineman Sage Doxtater placed on injured reserve by New Orleans Saints

Canadian offensive lineman Sage Doxtater has been placed on injured reserve by the New Orleans Saints. According to Mike Triplett of ESPN NFL Nation, the injury Doxtater suffered was to his elbow.

The 23-year-old signed with the Saints after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft out of New Mexico State. He started 48 games for the Aggies at left tackle and received an invitation to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in January but was unable to participate due to injury.

Doxtater measured in at six-foot-six and 317 pounds at his pro day and put up 27 reps on the bench press. He also ran a 5.40-second forty-yard dash, leaped a 28-inch vertical and eight-foot, five-inch broad jump, and ran a 4.99-second short shuttle and 8.17-second three-cone drill.

A member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames, Doxtater was selected in the second round of the 2021 CFL Draft by the Toronto Argonauts but opted to return to school for his additional year of COVID eligibility in order to attract more interest south of the border.
