Argos’ RB Andrew Harris to miss at least four-to-six weeks with torn pectoral muscle

Toronto Argoanauts’ running back Andrew Harris will be out for the foreseeable future — and possibly the rest of the season — due to a torn pectoral muscle, according to TSN’s Dave Naylor.

Harris has started eight games for the Argos this year and recorded 114 carries for 490 yards along with 23 receptions for 180 yards. He is currently the CFL’s third-leading rusher, though his 4.3-yard per carry average is the lowest of his career.

The 35-year-old recently became the first Canadian player ever to reach the 10,000-yard career rushing mark and surpassed Milt Stegall for fourth all-time in yards from scrimmage.

A.J. Ouellette replaced Harris in the club’s 34-27 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this past week, rushing 10 times for 47 yards and catching three passes for 36 yards. The Argos could also maintain their ratio by starting Canadian running back Daniel Adeboboye, who was selected in the second round of the 2022 CFL Draft out of Bryant University.

Naylor also reported that receiver Cam Phillips is expected to miss three to four weeks due to a groin injury.

The Argos (4-4) are scheduled to host the Calgary Stampeders (5-3) on Saturday, Aug. 20 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
