Blue Bombers bring back American receiver Kelvin McKnight

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have brought back American receiver Kelvin McKnight.

The 25-year-old McKnight was released by the team in June after playing eight games in 2021 and recording 15 receptions for 96 yards. He made his CFL debut and first start against the Toronto Argonauts on Friday, August 13 last year.

McKnight played NCAA football at Samford University where he made 243 receptions for 3,248 yards and 23 touchdowns, including 100 catches for 1,453 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior. The five-foot-nine, 189-pound pass-catcher was a 2017 All-American, 2017 first-team All-Southern Conference, 2016 second-team All-SoCon and the 2015 SoCon Freshman of the Year.

McKnight spent two years with the Denver Broncos on the team’s practice squad after signing as an undrafted NFL free agent. He also had a stint in 2020 in The Spring League.
