Edmonton Elks to provide free admission for children 12 and under for rest of regular season

The Edmonton Elks will allow children age 12 and under to attend games for free for the rest of the regular season.

This new initiative is starting immediately, meaning it will be in effect for Thursday evening’s game against the Calgary Stampeders. Adults wanting to bring children to the game can get up to four free kids tickets for every adult ticket purchased. These tickets still need to be procured from an online retailer despite being free of charge.

“As a proud community-owned club, we understand that one of our primary objectives is to build lasting memories for everyone in our community, most notably our youth. By greatly reducing the barrier to entry for kids 12 and under, we’re hoping to provide an awesome experience for thousands of kids this summer,” said team president and CEO Victor Cui in a statement.

“By expanding our kids get in free initiative beyond the traditional Labour Day Rematch game, we’re excited to welcome so many young faces to our games all season long. The thought of bringing the joy of Edmonton Elks football to the next generation of fans is energizing.”

The Elks have eight regular season home games remaining after dropping their home-opener against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on June 18.
