Keon Hatcher signs contract extension with B.C. Lions

The B.C. Lions have signed American receiver Keon Hatcher to a contract extension through the 2023 season.

The native of Tulsa, Okla. joined the club in June 2021 and finished his first CFL season with 17 receptions for 214 yards and two majors in seven games. He made four receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown in B.C.’s thrashing of the Edmonton Elks on Saturday.

Prior to moving north, Hatcher had NFL practice roster stints with the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, and Oakland Raiders. He was on the active roster with Oakland for three games in 2018, making one reception for eight yards.

Hatcher enjoyed a solid four seasons at the University of Arkansas (2013-16), recording 127 catches for 1,845 yards and 18 touchdowns along with 21 carries for 264 yards and one touchdown over 37 games.
