The Ottawa Redblacks have moved starting safety Justin Howell to the six-game injured list.

The four-year veteran recorded three defensive tackles and one forced fumble in a 19-17 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this past week. He beat out a number of veterans for the starting safety job in training camp, including Antoine Pruneau and Ty Cranston.

Howell was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 CFL Draft out of Carleton University. He has appeared in 41 career CFL games, recording 49 defensive tackles, 25 special teams tackles, three forced fumbles, and one sack.
