Toronto Argonauts sign American defensive lineman Jake Hlava, release one other

The Toronto Argonauts have signed American defensive lineman Jake Hlava and released American defensive back Cam Glenn.

Hlava spent two years at Grand Valley State University where he totalled 58 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, five-and-a-half sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 22 games for the Lakers. Prior to his time at Grand Valley State, the six-foot-three, 251-pound Batavia, Illinois native spent two years at Northern Illinois, playing in four games for the Huskies in 2017.

The Argos also released American defensive back Cam Glenn. Glenn signed with the team in 2019, playing in a single regular-season contest with the Boatmen that year, registering no statistics. Glenn did not play in 2021 due to injury.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound native of Stone Mountain, Georgia played 44 games over five seasons at Wake Forest University between 2014-2018. Glenn started 27 games for the Demon Deacons, registering 269 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two-and-a-half sacks, four interceptions, 16 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one touchdown.

Glenn was named a team captain for his final collegiate season and was second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference in 2018.
