The Edmonton Elks have chosen University of Calgary defensive tackle J-Min Pelley in the CFL supplemental draft, relinquishing their 2023 second-round CFL Draft pick in order to make the selection.
The six-foot-six, 350-pound nose tackle was a second-team U Sports All-Canadian in 2019 after recording 15 total tackles, four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one knockdown over seven regular season games. He also rushed two times for three yards and a touchdown and was chosen as a Canada West all-star while helping the Dinos win the Vanier Cup.
Pelley played three seasons in the Canadian Junior Football League before suiting up in U Sports, playing for the Calgary Colts (2016-2017) and Okanagan Sun (2018).
