Effective May 1, 2022, the Winnipeg Football Club will no longer require fans to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend Blue Bombers games at IG Field.

Since March of 2020, the Winnipeg Football Club has worked with the CFL as well as Manitoba Health in monitoring all pertinent COVID-19 activity. This has positioned the club to make informed decisions throughout the pandemic.

“We would like to thank Manitobans for continuing to follow public health orders and getting vaccinated, which has helped keep our community safe and allowed us to get to this point,” president and CEO, Wade Miller said in a statement.

“We can’t wait for a full Winnipeg Blue Bombers regular season on the football side to once again defend our championship.”

Last season fully vaccinated fans were allowed to attend home games as the Bombers produced a perfect 7-0 record in the Manitoba capital during the regular season and won the 2021 West Final over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on the way to a second straight Grey Cup.

The change in protocol will also apply to events held at IG Field unless the event has its own protocols that differ from the club’s protocols while all policies and procedures will remain subject to change.

The first Blue Bombers pre-season game against the Edmonton Elks is May 27 at IG Field.
