The Ottawa Redblacks have signed former NFL receiver and return specialist Shane Wynn.

The native of Cleveland, Ohio made his way to the NFL in 2015 after a successful collegiate career with the University of Indiana. He went unselected in the 2015 NFL Draft but signed with the Atlanta Falcons before stints with the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, San Diego Chargers, New Orleans Saints, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 29-year-old dressed for five games with the Jags in 2016, recording two carries for five yards and one reception for 19 yards.

The five-foot-six, 168-pound target made 189 receptions for 2,198 yards and 20 touchdowns over 48 career games with the Hoosiers. He also returned one punt for a touchdown as a freshman.

Wynn aims to provide a boost to an offense that ranked dead last in the CFL in yards and points in 2021. When it comes to CFL futures, Ontario sportsbooks have Ottawa as a longshot once again ([metabet_core_dynamic_odds market=”fbb/cfl_winner” query=”fbb/ottawa_redblacks” site_id=”playpicks”] to win the Grey Cup) heading into 2022.
