Canadian TE Nikola Kalinic works out for Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have worked out Canadian tight end Nikola Kalinic, per source.

The 24-year-old was selected in the second round, tenth overall, in the 2019 CFL Draft out of York University. He has since dressed for 30 games with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, recording 23 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns over two seasons. He worked out with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday and the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday.

The six-foot-four, 255-pound native of Toronto is an impact blocker and plays consistently on special teams, notching eight special teams tackles in 2021. He has experience at slotback, tight end, H-back, and fullback and has appeared in back-to-back Grey Cup games.

Kalinic made 15 catches for 168 yards in his final seasons with the York Lions before turning pro. He is slated to become a free agent in February, though he can sign with an NFL team before that if he if offered a contract.

The Titans finished atop the AFC South with a 12-5 record in 2021 and received a first-round bye in the NFL postseason as a result. They are on a bye during the first week of the playoffs (Jan. 15-17) and will resume play the following week.
