Bowman thanked Eisenberger for honouring the wager on Thursday, suggesting that he looked “great” in blue and gold.
Thanks to @HamiltonsMayor for honouring our friendly wager on the 108th @CFL Grey Cup game. You look GREAT in the @Wpg_BlueBombers Blue & Gold Mayor Eisenberger! #ForTheW #DefendTheCup https://t.co/dhxH18tAQ5

The bet was announced on Friday, Dec. 10, which was two days before the big game was set to take place. Winnipeg was slightly favoured in the point spread, though the Ticats were afforded the right to play in front of their hometown fans at Tim Hortons Field.
Winning against Hamilton at the โ19 #GreyCup was sweet but winning IN Hamilton would be sweeter! @HamiltonsMayor has agreed to terms. Losing mayor will create a life size cutout in the winning teamโs jersey & put it on public display for 108 hrs. @Wpg_BlueBombers @Ticats #ForTheW pic.twitter.com/kKkSZuDXWj

Jeremiah Masoli came off the bench to lead Hamilton to a 22-10 fourth quarter lead, though the Ticats were unable to close out the contest. Winnipeg scored 15 unanswered points in the final frame before Michael Domagala kicked a short field goal to send the game to overtime.
The Blue Bombers scored a touchdown on their first overtime possession, after which Masoli was intercepted by linebacker Kyrie Wilson on a tipped pass. The game ended with a final score of 33-25, cementing Winnipeg’s second consecutive Grey Cup title and extending Hamilton’s championship drought to 22 years.
Eisenberger had won a bet against Toronto mayor John Tory the previous week with Hamilton’s 27-19 victory over the Argos in the East Final. Bowman was also victorious in a wager against Regina mayor Sandra Masters following Winnipeg’s 21-17 win over the Riders in the West Final.
