Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Andrew Harris was absent from practice Tuesday due to a knee injury.

The league’s third-leading limped off the field following a touchdown reception in the second quarter against the Edmonton Elks and did not return.

Brady Olivera had a strong night in relief as the Winnipeg-born running back picked up 105 yards on 16 carries.

Harris has 623 yards on the ground this season, putting him 54 back of Montreal’s William Stanback for the league lead.

Harris has led the league in rushing on two separate occasions and is 339 yards away from 10,000 for his career.

Winnipeg was also without Nic Demski (foot) for Tuesday’s practice while Willie Jefferson (ankle) and Jackson Jeffcoat (hip) were limited.

The first place Bombers (9-1) have a chance to clinch first in the West when they play the BC Lions (4-5) Saturday in Winnipeg.
