The B.C. Lions have released American running back Shaq Cooper.
Cooper signed with the Leos as a free agent in February and spent the first eight games of the 2021 season in B.C.
The Fort Hays State product started four games in 2019 with the Edmonton Football Team, running the ball 65 times for 352 yards and two touchdowns along with 15 receptions for 112 yards.
The five-foot-ten, 190-pound ball carrier was a star over three seasons in the NCAA with the Tigers (2012 and 2015-2016). He rushed 456 times for 2,768 yards and 19 touchdowns while making 73 receptions for 736 yards and ten scores.
Cooper is a speedy one-cut back who can make an impact as a receiver out of the backfield.
