The Regina Police Service (RPS) has received a report of a woman being threatened by a man at the Labour Day Classic on Sunday and having her underwear stolen.

A friend of the victim tweeted about the incident on Sunday, though the messages are no longer publicly available. The posts included a photo of the victim’s scraped knee, an injury that allegedly occurred during the incident. The user thanked the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the team’s fan services, and the RPS for their help following the incident.

The RPS told the Regina Leader-Post on Tuesday that an officer spoke with the victim at the game but she did not give an official statement or leave her contact information. The police are now trying to identify the victim after telling her on Sunday that they would investigate the incident if she chose to contact them in the future.

“We cannot coerce someone into making a statement to police so there is not much more information we can provide at this time,” wrote RPS spokeswoman Elizabeth Popowich in an email to the newspaper.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders issued the following statement to 3DownNation on Monday regarding the incident.

As this matter is with Regina Police, the Club will not provide any comment. However, the Roughriders strive to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all fans, including those of visiting teams, and take these matters very seriously. As it does routinely in incidents that violate the law or the Fan Code of Conduct, the Club can take action up to and including revoking tickets and banning people from all future Rider games and events.
