The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released four players, including Canadian linebacker Nakas Onyeka.
Onyeka was signed by the Riders in May 2020 after being released by the Toronto Argonauts following a four-year stint with the Boatmen. The Brampton native was a fifth round, 36th overall selection by the Argos in 2017 and helped Toronto win the Grey Cup in his rookie year. He has recorded 44 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in 36 career CFL games.
The Riders have also released American receiver Kermit Whitfield, American defensive lineman Markus Jones, and American linebacker Oluwaseun Idowu.
