Tiger-Cats sign former NFL placekicker Taylor Bertolet

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American placekicker Taylor Bertolet.

The 28-year-old Bertolet spent time in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Denver Broncos and St. Louis Rams.

Bertolet played in nine pre-season games, making 9-of-12 field goals with a long of 45 yards and 9-of-12 extra points.

The five-foot-nine, 188-pound native of Reading, Pennsylvania also played nine games with the Alliance of American Football’s Salt Lake Stallions in 2019, converting 9-of-14 field goal attempts (64.3 percent) including a season long of 54 yards.

Prior to his pro career, Bertolet played 52 games over four seasons at Texas A&M University from 2012-2015. Serving as a placekicker and kickoff specialist, Bertolet converted 37-of-56 field goal attempts (66.1 percent) including a career long of 55 yards.
