Odell Willis calls out Eskimos for lack of professionalism

The Edmonton Eskimos have yet to officially announce long-time scout Rob Ralph leaving the organization.

Ralph was an integral part of building the 2015 Grey Cup championship team. Former Eskimos defensive end Odell Willis shared his thoughts on the lack of professionalism from the Edmonton.

Last February, the Eskimos were criticized for how the organization handled the release of Adarius Bowman.

The non-football operations cap set at just under $2.59 million for the next two seasons, played a role in Ralph’s departure and has already had a marked effect on the league and Eskimos. Defensive coordinator and assistant head coach Mike Benevides won’t return in 2019 because of the new requirements.

Ralph had been with the Eskimos for two decades moving his way up to the post he last held. Former general manager Ed Hervey promoted Ralph to the Canadian Draft position in 2016 after he served four years as a scout for Edmonton among other roles before that.

Around the league, Ralph was well respected for being an up and coming talent evaluator playing an important role in building the Eskimos Canadian talent core. The man is at least deserving of a proper send-off.
