Eskimos DL works out for San Francisco 49ers

American defensive lineman Euclid Cummings worked out for the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old is a pending CFL free agent and had a strong 2017 season in Edmonton recording 21 tackles, eight sacks and three forced fumbles through 16 games. Cummings spent 2016 with Winnipeg after two years in Toronto to begin his CFL career. The Georgia Tech product has played 53 CFL games making 62 tackles, 19 sacks and four forced fumbles.

After going undrafted in the NFL, Cummings was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but he was waived near the end of training camp and inked a double blue deal that same year 2014.

Checking in at six-foot-three, 298 pounds, the interior defender has shown consistent ability to rush the passer in the CFL. If no NFL team offers Cumming a contract he’ll be highly sought after in Canada.
