Lions exploring trade market for all-star OL Jovan Olafioye

Lions general manager and head coach Wally Buono has been exploring the trade market for stalwart tackle Jovan Olafioye, according to Rick Dhaliwal from NEWS 1130 in Vancouver.

In fact, BC may have found a partner with which to make a deal.

Montreal would appear to be a fit for an American tackle, especially after general manager Kavis Reed released Canadian Jeff Perrett, traded for Brian Simmons and signed internationals Patrick Colbert, Vincent Brown and Mathu Gibson. It appears the Alouettes want to go with two imports starting at the left and right tackle spots respectively for 2017.

Olafioye has been named a CFL all-star six consecutive seasons and been a mainstay on the Lions’ offensive line, playing in every game possible since arriving in 2010. The 29-year-old won the CFL’s Most Oustanding Lineman award in 2012.
