B.C. Lions re-sign breakout star Alexander Hollins

The B.C. Lions have signed American receiver Alexander Hollins to a two-year contract extension, tying him to the team through 2025. He was slated to become a free agent next month.

The six-foot, 175-pound target made 78 receptions for 1,173 yards and nine touchdowns this past season and was named a West Division all-star.

“I’m blessed for the opportunity to remain with this great organization that allowed me to prolong my football career,” Hollins said in a statement. “We’ve been building this brick by brick for a couple of seasons and the work has already begun for 2024 and beyond.”

The native of Yazoo City, Miss. joined the Lions as a free agent in 2022 when he made 13 catches for 117 yards and one touchdown over four contests.

The 27-year-old went unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Eastern Illinois University and spent the next three seasons as a member of the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns. He dressed for five games in Minnesota, recording two receptions for 46 yards.

CFL free agency gets underway at noon EST on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
