Signing with the Calgary Stampeders in 2013, Jorden watched year after year as another receiver became “the guy” in the Stampeders receiving corps.
Marquay McDaniel, Maurice Price, Jeff Fuller, Eric Rogers, and DaVaris Daniels all were top targets over the next three seasons while Jorden bided his time on the practice roster, injured list, or as a depth receiver.

Jorden finally got his chance to shine in 2016, making 42 receptions for 580 yards and three touchdowns in six games. He built on those numbers the following year, catching 52 passes for 717 yards and six scores in ten games.
Jorden enjoyed his best season in 2018, recording 55 catches for 944 yards and six touchdowns. What’s remarkable is that it only took ten games for him to accumulate those numbers. The performance was good enough for fourth in the West Division in yards and sixth in touchdowns. His half-season was enough to have him named a divisional all-star.
Jorden was injured on Labour Day, suffering a torn ACL, MCL and PCL in his knee. Aside from a desperate playoff gambit in 2019 when he clearly wasn’t 100 percent, Jorden hasn’t played since.
Stamps fans salivate at the memory of how hot Jorden was running before he got injured. His previous three games before the injury included performances of 185 and a franchise record 249 yards.
When football resumes in 2021, Jorden will look to recoup his status as “the guy” in Calgary’s offense that was filled by Reggie Begelton in his absence.
At that point, Jorden will have had nearly three years away from football. Strangely enough, this seven-year vet could just be getting started.
