Facing an arbitrary deadline set by Johnny Manziel’s agent and likely inundated with media requests, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have issued a statement on the state of negotiations.
“While the discussions with Johnny Manziel and his representative have been very cordial and informative, there is nothing imminent and nothing to report. We will continue to do our due diligence and will have no further public comment on the matter as we move forward.”

Of course, those 45 words – which aren’t attributed to anyone in the organization – are 44 more than Manziel offered.
